Pupil Premium Funding
At the Priory Witham Academy we fully support the Disadvantage Funding agenda and believe that the best way for disadvantaged pupils to achieve is to be in an Academy with high expectations, a strong ethos of achievement, and where quality first teaching is the norm for all pupils. Academy leaders champion high aspirations and create a positive climate for learning. Targeted support allows progress rates for disadvantaged pupils to accelerate.
Our aim is that everyone achieves and the disadvantage funding is used to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to reach their full potential by making good or better progress, achieving well in examinations and being prepared for life and the world of work.
As an Academy we adopt a wide range of intervention strategies to support those eligible for Disadvantage Funding. These are complimented by our clear focus on quality first teaching with effective marking and feedback being a prominent feature.
The Academy is committed to mobilising the best evidence from research and sources such as the NFER research into the 7 building blocks and The Sutton Trust / Education Endowment Foundation Teaching and Learning Toolkit findings have informed our strategy at every priority.
